Just thought I’d share a little before the new year kicks off and I forget. Yes, 2017 had some nasty stuff in it. Forget all that stuff please. 2017 also was full of awesome stuff.
The following are a short list of my favorites (in no particular order). I’m sure I left something out…
Muji .38
This little guy has restored my faith in writing. Super fine, doesn't smear, and easy on the wallet!
Lefse Making Kit
Mostly I love the product generated by this little kit. I also like that this connected 2 familes of Norwegian heritage (ours and a good friends), and gave our kids something to do that wasn't electronic.
Blockchain/Cryptocurrencies
Maybe something closer to gambling at this point, the crypto market has restored my faith in innovative ideas (blockchain) with deeper purpose... and, I'm up 1500% as of this writing (oops.. now 708%)
One Mission
Another book makes the list! It intrigues me that the technical community (of which I am a part) is influencing great leaders 15 years after the drive toward agility and modern management methods. Chris Fussell outlines this in his great book above.
Jay Bilas - toughness
I like this article so much, I plan to have it tattooed on my body in its entirety. If you are a basketball nut, or basketball coach, this is for you!
Allbirds Wool Runners
If you're over 40, and want to dress like a 30-something hipster, these are the shoes for you. And they are crazy comfortable.
Adafruit
Nice site to buy RPi, or Arduino projects stuff.
Keto
Look into it folks. I've eaten more bacon this year than most of my previous adult years combined...and I've lost weight! Sugar, bad. Bacon, good!
Fermentorium
Craft brews are awesome, and I just so happen to love one near me. Underwater Panther, Juice Packets, and Covered Bridge are dynamite.
Curling
Well, I didn’t think this would make the list, but my son has joined a curling league. We have the oldest curling club in the country in our town, and its awesome. And with every bonspiel, they force you to hoist a beer to get to know your opponents. (I'm not sure this is an actual "rule", but I tell people it is)
